Home Tour: Part Two

I'm back to show you some more pics of this great house on the market in my town. I toured it just for fun, and was really impressed with the decor. If you missed part one of this house tour, check it out HERE.

This cute little hallway is at the back of the house.

The door on the left opens to this lovely guest room...

It had wonderful built-in shelves.

The guest bathroom (and all of the baths) had recently been remodeled. Love this vanity...

The main floor features another living room that the current owners are using as an office.

This room tempted me to paint my family room paneling.

Let's head upstairs...

The master bedroom.

The master bathroom is dark and masculine and very hip.

The shower is behind this wall...

Another upstairs bedroom...

and upstairs hall bathroom….

Adorable little girls' room...

The two-acre lot features two English gardens.

Hope you enjoyed the tour! I love checking out houses that are on the market. It's even better when they have some inspiring design elements.

Happy Hump Day!!

Home Tour: Part One

Hey friends! Hope your week is off to a great start! We had a wonderful spring break in Arizona. It was the perfect combination of activity (hiking and horseback riding) and relaxation (sitting by the pool and sipping cocktails). I came back rejuvenated and ready to get back to my work projects. I will have photos of those soon…. stay tuned!

In the meantime, I have a lovely home tour to share with you. This house is for sale just a few blocks away from me.

I went to take a peak (just for fun), and was surprised by how beautifully staged it was. I snapped a bunch of pics with my phone so I could share it with you.

Come on in….

The dining room was off the foyer, and happens to have the same chandelier that I have in mine!
(See, mom, it doesn't belong in a haunted house.)

I loved the window treatments throughout the home, and upon further inspection, realized they were simply hemmed drop cloths wrapped with pretty trim. Cheap and stylish… I'm totally copying that idea!

The kitchen was cozy, warm and inviting...

and featured this amazing fireplace...

Can you imagine sitting at this table with a cup of coffee, enjoying a roaring fire?

Love the matelasse quilt cleverly draped over the kitchen table. Impractical, but so pretty :)

The wood beams in the kitchen just make the whole room. You may be surprised to learn that the home was built in 1983. So, it's not very old… just built with the character of an older home.

The family room has pretty built-in shelves and french doors leading to a patio.

It also has a small fireplace.

I thought the framed feathers were a neat idea. I'm not really into feathers, but if that's your thing, you may want to consider them as inexpensive art :)

There's so much more to see in this beautiful house. I was literally running through, yelling to my friend. "Oh my gosh. You need to see this!!" A kid in a candy store, I tell ya.

I'll be back with "Part 2" of the tour tomorrow. For now, I'm going to try to tackle the 8,000 loads of laundry that need to be done. Try not to be jealous.

Where the Heck Have I Been?

Hey friends! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Thankfully, my blogging absence hasn't been due to any life tragedy. Although I did go swimsuit shopping the other day. I think it's safe to say that seeing one's backside magnified by florescent lights and a three-way mirror qualifies as a traumatic event. I'm still dealing with the lingering effects of PTSD.

Listen up, Macy's…. dim the lights or put trick mirrors in. No one needs to know the reality of what's behind them.

It doesn't help that my newest clients look like this…

I can't even hate them because they're beautiful. Because they are also the kindest, sweetest girls on the planet. Beautiful inside and out.

They own a fabulous boutique and have asked me to help spruce it up a bit. I'm really excited… it's got an industrial glam vibe and involves the color pink. Very cool.

I'm designing some new fitting rooms for the store. And, trust me, they will be flattering to all who enter. (I'm a quick study, Macy's!) I'll keep you updated on the progress.

More client projects are in the works. I'm currently working with a young family on their new home. We picked out all new paint colors, and we're starting to put the house together room by room.

The house is a beautiful brick Georgian revival. This was the design board I created for their front porch.

I absolutely fell in love with the black and white chairs, and thankfully, my client did too :) Pics of the finished porch and other rooms coming soon.

Between shopping for clients and carpooling my kids, this is what a day in my car looks like…

Life has been fast-paced and crazy busy, and sometimes, I need a good laugh to keep me going. Luckily, my 5 year old provided just the comic relief I needed.

For "U" week at preschool, the kids decorate underwear. All of my kids have done this activity, and I never really gave it a second thought. That is, until my child came home with this creation …

He told me it was a submarine, and couldn't understand why I found it so funny. I can only imagine what his teachers were thinking.

I'm contemplating adding it to the gallery wall. What do you think? :)

We're heading to Arizona for spring break in a couple of days. After this past winter, we weren't taking any weather chances, and decided the desert was the safest bet.

I'll be back on a bit of a blogging break for the next week, but follow me on Instagram or Twitter if you want to stay updated on my sweet chaos.

Thanks for stopping by!
