Greetings from 30,000 feet! This is the first post I've written from an airplane seat. Since my kids are chomping at the bit to use my computer to play games, I'll keep this short and sweet.
Just wanted to let you know that Remodelaholic is featuring my living room makeover today. I'd love it if you'd stop over there for a visit. It's a fabulous blog with lots of great remodeling stories and plenty of eye candy and inspiration.
Hope you're having a terrific day!

Living Room Reveal
Hello there! Remember me? I've been very neglectful of my poor blog this month. I didn't intend to go so long without posting, but it's been a crazy busy summer with all my kids' activities. Our days are jam-packed with swim practices and meets, baseball and basketball games, scout camp outs, band practice, cook outs and every conceivable activity under the sun.
I'm just trying to embrace the chaos this summer. I know there will come a time when I will look back on these days and miss them.
Since I've been away from blogging for quite some time, I'm excited to be back with a finished (or as finished as it's going to be for a while) room to unveil.
Let's take a stroll down memory lane to what our living room looked like before...
The red walls and toile drapes were here when we moved in. I basically stuck my furniture in the room and lived with it.
But now it finally reflects my taste...
The makeover began with the removal of the white carpet that never stayed white. We replaced it with wide plank hardwood floors.
I had pillows made which breathed new life into my existing settee and chair. The new tufted pink velvet ottoman is one of my favorite pieces in the room.
My bird prints are finally framed and hung ...
Not sure why I lost sleep worrying about my frame choice.
I really love them.
And, I got to add some more pink to go with my favorite ottoman :)
I chose a seagrass area rug to tie the room together.
My china cabinets were updated with a fresh coat of homemade white chalk paint. I painted the inside Wedgewood Gray to add some color to the room.
A coffee set that belonged to my great, great grandmother is displayed in one of the cabinets...
A mix of Anthropologie and Home Goods dishes reside in the other cabinet...
Aside from the pink ottoman, the only new furniture I added was the antique Louis chair, the garden stool and the two little ottomans under the table. Yet with paint and new accessories, the room looks entirely different.
I'm really loving the transformation of this room. I never spent much time in here unless I was playing the piano or listening to my son play it. Now I want to be in here as much as possible!
And, if life ever slows down enough that I can actually blog in peace, this will be the room where it gets done :)
Hope you are having a fun summer!!

Client Bathroom Project
I'm working with the sweetest client ever on her master bathroom makeover. Electrical and trim work are taking place next week, but I thought I'd show you a few of the elements we're incorporating into the design.
We'll be using these sconces, but in an antique silver finish...
His mirror...
Her mirror...
Can't tell in the photos, but her mirror is wider than his. The vanities are across from each other and are different sizes. Hers can accommodate a larger mirror than his, hence the different styles. (This was one of those decisions I pondered a lot at 3am).
We're still playing with fabrics, but this is where we're headed...
I am absolutely loving this Magnolia "Powell" fabric!
Before and After Pics Coming Soon...
